June — collage poem by drew myron
When the mind is ragged and restless, it soothes the self to stop making sense and start making scraps.
And so, the collage poem is born.
The head goes into some other register when making these postcard-size pieces. It’s a playful stretch of image and word, of disarray and design. My efforts are not so much art as a process that releases a mix of mystery and delight.
Let’s get back to play — in all forms. Let loose. Take leaps. Surprise yourself with what you might make.

Within the shaggy arms of that dark forest
the light — so wild and guiltless —
wore peace.

piece of special.
